Worth writing about

  • A calculator gives a wrong number. Tell us the inputs you used and what you expected. This goes to the top of the pile.
  • A calculator you want that is not here. Tell us what you currently do by hand or in a spreadsheet.
  • The SLD generator draws something wrong. A symbol that is not the one your standard uses, an arrangement it will not produce, or labels landing on top of each other. Send the configuration and, if you can, the exported SVG.
  • A topic for the blog. Especially failure modes — things that went wrong on a real job and were hard to diagnose.
  • Reference data. If you have manufacturer tables we could cite properly, we would like to hear from you.

What we cannot do

We cannot check or approve your design. The calculators are a starting point for a qualified engineer, not a substitute for one, and we are not in a position to take responsibility for an installation we have not seen.

The same goes for the single line diagrams. What the generator produces is a drawing of the configuration you gave it — useful for a tender, a discussion or a first pass at a panel schedule, and not a stamped drawing. It has not been checked against your site, your supply authority's requirements or the equipment you will actually buy, and it carries no engineer's approval. Have it reviewed and signed by someone qualified before it is issued for construction.
